Delete your data
Last updated 4 October 2026You can delete your ClippingAlpha account and everything tied to it yourself. If you cannot sign in, email us and we delete it for you.
Delete it yourself
- Sign in at clippingalpha.com/app/sign-in with the key you signed up with: TikTok, Instagram, X, Google, Discord, an email code or Telegram.
- Tap your initial at the top right and choose Profile. In the app screens, the You tab opens the same page.
- Find the section named Your data and tap Delete my data.
- Read the note and tap Delete my data again to confirm. Keep my account cancels.
Want a copy first? Tap Export my data in the same section before you delete. It downloads one JSON file with everything we hold about you.
What happens next
- At once
- Every alert stops and alerts waiting to send are dropped. Every session ends, so you are signed out on every device. Your alert history no longer names any account you connected or its audience share.
- Within 7 days
- We erase your account and sign-in links, your email address, Telegram chat and push subscription, profile answers, saved campaigns, alert rules, settings and alert history, the visits and events tied to you, conversions not yet sent, apps connected to our MCP server and every connected audience account with its numbers and, for Instagram and Connect TikTok (audience), its encrypted token. The job runs right after your request, and a daily check retries any that is still waiting.
- On Telegram
- If you had Telegram alerts, the bot sends one last message: Your data is deleted.
What we keep
- A record of each consent you gave: what the form said, when and on which channel. It keeps a keyed hash in place of your account and no longer points to you.
- If you unsubscribed, an email bounced or was marked as spam, or you told the Telegram bot you are under 18: a one-way hash of that address or chat, so we never message it again.
- Daily totals of alerts and visits, which hold counts only.
- Your cookie banner choice, stored against the random id in your browser cookie, not against your account.
- Database backups, which keep a copy for up to 14 days and are then gone.
Ad measurement events already sent to Meta or Google cannot be recalled. Meta received a hashed email address, hashed account and visitor ids, your IP address, your browser's user agent and the _fbp and _fbc values, and for a Google signup your first and last name, hashed. Google received a hashed email address and the ad click id. Alerts already delivered stay in your inbox or Telegram chat, and an alert can name your connected account and its audience share. Resend and Telegram keep their own logs of the alerts they delivered for us. See the privacy policy for the full list.
Cannot sign in?
Email privacy@clippingalpha.com with the subject Delete my ClippingAlpha data.
Write from the address on your account, or tell us the TikTok, Instagram, X, Google, Discord or Telegram account you signed in with. We may ask you to confirm the account is yours. Then we run the same deletion and reply when it is done, within 7 days.
Your Instagram account
- Signed in with Instagram: the sign-in link holds your Instagram account id and @username. Disconnect it in Profile, Connected accounts, while you have another way to sign in.
- What we hold for an account connected for an audience check: the username, account type, follower and post counts, and the shares of its audience by country, city, age group and gender, for its followers and its engaged audience. Also an access token, encrypted, so we can read those numbers again each day.
- Remove one account: Profile, Verify your audience, Disconnect on its card. Its row, its token and the alert lines that name it are deleted at once. If the same Instagram account signs you in, that sign-in link goes too, so it asks first, and it is refused while that Instagram is your only way to sign in.
- Remove ClippingAlpha in Instagram under Settings, Apps and websites: Instagram tells us, and we delete that account's numbers, token and the alert lines that name it at once, from every ClippingAlpha account that connected it.
- Ask Instagram to delete your data from ClippingAlpha: we delete the same, and the Instagram sign-in link with the username it gave us, at once, and Instagram shows you a confirmation code with a page to check it. We keep that code and its time for 90 days, nothing else.
Your TikTok audience
- What we hold for a TikTok account connected with Connect TikTok (audience), Business or Personal: its display name (or its username when it has none), whether it is a Business or Personal account, its follower count, and from 100 followers the shares of its followers by country, age group and gender. Also a refresh token, encrypted, so we can read those numbers again each day. The same TikTok account connected another way stays one row with these numbers on it.
- Remove one account: Profile, Verify your audience, Disconnect on its card. Its row, its token and the alert lines that name it are deleted at once, and we ask TikTok to end our access to it. If you also sign in with that TikTok account, that sign-in link goes too, so it asks first, and it is refused while that TikTok is your only way to sign in.
- Remove ClippingAlpha in the TikTok app under Settings and privacy, Security, Manage app permissions: TikTok stops answering us, so at the next daily read we delete the token and the row asks you to connect again. Remove it in Profile to delete its numbers too.
- Delete my data deletes every connected account and its token with the rest of your account.
