# How to find clipping gigs with ChatGPT

Connect ClippingAlpha to ChatGPT to find live clipping gigs, compare their pay and budget, read the brand brief and get footage links. Compare 3 gigs, ask for a clip plan, then make and submit the work yourself on its clipping platform.

## Connect ChatGPT

1. Open ChatGPT on the web and go to Plugins. If ClippingAlpha is already installed, select it in your conversation and move to the first prompt below.
2. For a custom connection, choose the plus button, then Add custom MCP server. Name it ClippingAlpha and enter the server URL below.
3. Use OAuth for the connection. Complete the setup, install the resulting plugin and select it in your chat. Sign in to ClippingAlpha when you want saved gigs, alerts or member asset links.

Server URL `https://clippingalpha.com/mcp`

Setup checked on 27 October 2026 against [OpenAI: add a custom MCP server](https://developers.openai.com/api/docs/guides/custom-mcp-server). Connection access depends on your ChatGPT account and workspace settings.

## Compare clipping gigs

Start with your posting app and the kind of footage you want to work with. Compare a short list before choosing a gig. These prompts ask ChatGPT to use live campaign tools and keep the terms beside each recommendation.

1. Use ClippingAlpha to find three live clipping gigs for TikTok. Show the source footage, pay per 1K views, budget left, minimum views, caps, platform fee and whether I need to apply. Link each gig and say when its data was checked.
2. Compare those gigs for my TikTok account. Explain which has the most usable footage and why the highest advertised rate might not be the best fit. Flag any missing terms.
3. For the gig I choose, read the brief, get the asset links and explain how I can download the brand's footage. Then plan three clips with source timestamps, hooks, format and the before-I-post checklist.

Ask for a comparison table with one gig per row. Include its rate, budget left, minimum views, cap, fee, posting apps and whether it needs an application. The Alpha Score adds context about the campaign. The brief and the clipping platform define the work.

## Brief and asset links

Ask for the original brief and every source asset link for the gig you chose. ClippingAlpha's get\_brief tool explains the requirements, get\_assets returns the source links, and plan\_clips provides a working plan and the brand's footage instructions.

- Open the returned brand folder or file link. Follow the host's download option when the brand has enabled it, and choose the source files the brief names.
- If access needs a ClippingAlpha sign-in, connect your account first. Use a footage password only when the brand published it for participating creators.
- A public video Watch link opens the source at a useful moment. It may not provide a download. If the brief gives no download route, ask the campaign for its source files.
- Other creators' approved posts are examples of finished work. Keep them separate from the brand's footage supplied for your clips.

Keep a short list of the files you downloaded and the source timestamps you plan to use. That gives ChatGPT the same source references when you ask for the next clip.

## How clipping gigs pay

The opportunity is the clipping gig. ChatGPT helps you find it and understand the work. You join or apply on the gig's clipping platform, make clips that meet the brief, publish them on the allowed social apps and submit the post links yourself.

A pay-per-view gig pays for the views the platform counts under its terms. Check the minimum, cap, fee and remaining budget. For example, a rate of $2 per 1,000 counted views gives $20 at 10,000 views before fees and caps, if the post meets the gig's rules. The [pay calculator](https://clippingalpha.com/learn/clipping-pay-calculator) applies the terms you choose.

You edit, publish and submit your own work. ClippingAlpha provides the gig, brief, asset links and guidance. It does not submit clips on your behalf.
